O-Vee Gauges

O-Vee's spring gauges allows the easy precise measurement of external threads, taps and gauges. This is a practical way of measuring screw threads in a production environment. They are based upon a "3 wire method" which is universally recognised as an efficient and accurate measure. Each gauge is made to suit a specific thread size.

Gauges are made from heat treated, high tensile steel wire specially selected for accuracy within British, European and American Standards.

Need to check for wear on your plug thread gauges?

OVEE spring type over the wire thread measuring gauges will easily assist in detecting wear.

The first 1-3 threads of your plug gages will typically bear the brunt of use. Check them for wear by measuring the pitch diameter using our In-House Plug Gauge Calibration Gauges. OVEE thread gauges can be used to measure pitch diameter for internal and external threads. Even vertical threads and all without having to hold the wires OVEE Internal and external thread measuring gauges make the three-wire method easy, quick and efficient.

 The O-Vee measuring system provides quick, simple and accurate internal and external measurement of threaded components. The effective diameter is measured over the wires, by a standard type micrometer, without recourse to calculations or reference to tables. The data plate shows a maximum and minimum limits over wires, and current tolerances for any specified fit.

APPLICATION Setters...set screwing tools more accurately- setting to low limits gives maximum runs without re-setting.

Direct work approaching high limits before producing rejects. Make plating allowances. Inspectors...use this very handy method of control at the machine in addition to normal routine inspection.

Check border line rejects and worn plug gauges.

Storekeepers...replace worn taps by periodic checks with special O-VEE gauges for taps.
